I've found an 01 cr-v ex 4wd in pretty good shape, however I don't know much about honda so I'd like to know what to look for when I go see it tonight and if it's a good buy (if it checks out). he wants 2200 for it

from the pics, interior looks good, paint is faded exterior.
From the description he just did the front brakes, oil change, and rear diff; in the next 10K miles it'll need a timing belt, water pump, thermostat, tune up, and ?valve lash? adjusted

welcome to the forum Nada.com shows the 01 cr-v w/190k miles. clean trade in 1600, avg trade in 1150, clean retail 3300. with all the up coming maintenance it will soon need, it will start being expensive. timing belt, water pump est 500-800.00 tune up 200+ valve lash 200+ (milage is above average. if he has all the maintenance records it is good. if it was maintained by Honda dealership, then it is a plus. also the cr-v is 19 years old. sorry i would have to pass on it. if all the up coming maintenance was already done, yes for 2000.00.
