Default 2002 CR-V wiper motor issues. Can you help?

I just bought a 2002 CR-V and the front wipers don't go all the way down and all the way across the windshield. In other words, there is a shorter excursion of the blades than normal. I was told I would need a new wiper motor. Does anyone know if there might be some adjustment, or is this indeed a sign that the motor is bad. If it does need replacement, is this something an inexperienced "home mechanic" as myself could accomplish without too much frustration? Also, are the motor rebuilds any good that you can pick up online for $100 any good? Thanks.

welcome to the forum. Normally the motor turns in one direction, the problem is usually the links under the grill gets loose and does the allow the wipers to go their full travel.

Thanks acmech52. Is there something I can do to fix the problem? Would this be an easy fix?
