Default 2004 CR-V Code P1457, Starting issues after putting gas in

I have a 2004 CR-V that has 230,000 miles on it. My check engine light is on and the code I’m getting is P1457. The ONLY time there is an issue with it is AFTER I put gas in (it doesn’t matter how much gas I put in). Whenever I try to start it after getting gas, it runs rough & stalls out. The rpms do not stay up enough to keep it running on its own. I have to feather the gas pedal as well as hold the gas pedal down a little to rev up the engine some to raise the rpms so it will idle on its own. Then I can put it into gear and it runs completely fine, no hesitation or bucking. This ONLY happens after I put gas in & try to start it. Any other time is starts right up & idles as it should. My hopes are to gain some knowledge on here so that I don’t have to replace several things before getting to the route of the problem. I’m not sure if this matters or can cause issues but it has sat some on & off the past year because of other mechanical issues not related (brakes, rotors, sway bar, caliber etc).

Your evap system is probably contaminated. You are also looking at needing a purge and vent valve and likely need a new canister as well.
