2007 CRV won't go into park

Our daughter is in college and using the screwdriver trick to get her car into park or gear. I need to make a permanent solution. Anyone have this happen? Any recommendations?

Sorry, ...
you will have to check the brake switch to see if it is working properly
then you will need to check the handle of the gear shift lever
