Default 2009 CRV EX TPMS Light Reset

Thought I’d post this because I couldn’t find a correct answer anywhere…

2009 CRV EX - TPMS light went on. I purchased 4 new sensors (part number 42753-SWA-316) and had them installed at a local tire place. Drove the vehicle and light still did not go off. Note there is no button to reset the light. Went back to the tire place and they then plugged something in to the electrical port under the steering wheel and used a hand held electronic device to link the sensors to the car. The TPMS letters went off and the other tire pressure light (the one that looks like a horse shoe with an exclamation point inside) began blinking. This light went off after I drove the car two blocks.

I own a 2007 CRV LX. I bought a TPMS tool. Autel TS508 to handle putting in a new TPMS sensor and relearn sensors to the car. There is no reset button on the car. Everything is done thru the OBDII port or the DLC (data link connector). After the relearn process, one can use the diagnose mode to read and erase the TPMS DTCs. Then drive the car for a while and make sure the light goes off.. So, everything you said it the post is correct. No issue here as long as the light stays off.

First Time Poster, long time TPMS yellow lighter.

so you have successfully used the Autel TS508 to both reprogram an MX sensor AND relearn your ECU to your installed sensors?

I’m starting from scratch, and I’d like to make sure the TS508 can actually program my 2009’s control unit via OBD.

Thanks for replying! Technically, according to the Autel website, the TS508 is discontinued, so when actually looking up compatibility via their year/make/model inputs, it doesn’t populate. It is still available for purchase via Amazon/Ebay/Etc

however, it is still supported with software updates, and their website states it’s compatible with “all Asian manufacturers”

The physical literature with the unit doesn’t specify compatibility, just a roughly translated pictorial user guide.

I can tell you the module communicates with a 2009 CRV via OBD and can read DTCs for TPMS, and can read the sensor IDs that are currently written/learned to the car, but my question to the poster above really relates to the specific experience of using a TS508 to overwrite what’s written into the control module using the OBD, vice going to the dealership and paying them $300+ to do the same thing via HDS.

I’m thinking your odds of getting a response are close to zero.

that’s interesting. I thought I had quoted avisitor, the first response to the OP, who has been a member since 2018 with over 1400 posts, as recent as last week. Or am I mistaken?

No, you are not mistaken. avisitor is still around and he may chime in if he sees the old thread. Or you could send him a PM.

Edit: Just FYI he posted on the other forum about 9:20 pm Eastern time
