Default 2015 automatic shift failure

Can anyone help me with this please? Mechanics are baffled. I have a 2015 automatic with an electric shift lever (not the conventional mechanical forward and back P N D L R lever). Engine starts okay. Then warning lights come on in sequence - transmission, then the various safety feature lights. Shift lever is dead. Car won't go into gear. Diagnostic reader implies a communication fault because it cannot access transmission fault data.

Engine runs okay. There are no engine warning lights, only the transmission light and the CMBS lights etc.

Happy to have your suggestions!

Welcome in,did the mechanic check the safety switch under the brake pedal. The safety lockout?also check to see if all brake lights are on,mine wouldn't go into gear once when both my brake lights were out.good luck.
