2015 CRV- code P0339 and U0401-68
84,000 miles on it, LE FWD. 3 times in the last 6 months I have had the car start just a little rough and the Vehicle Stabliity Assist, Check Engine, and Electronic Power Steering lights come on. Each time the lights were on for about a day then all turned off. The first two times the CRV drove fine. This last time, a week ago, the steering felt a little off, kind of unstable almost as if the two front wheels weren't in sync. This lasted about 15min of 30min trip on the highway, the last part of the drive everything felt normal. Also when I first merged on the highway it kind of hesitated so I pulled over, turned car off, then got going again. Got home and the next trip on same day the lights were all off.
Went to Advance Auto just to see what their scanner would see even though the lights went away. Have codes P0339 (said Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Intermittent) and U0401-68 (said ECM).
Previous owner got a new starter in it one year ago because of the loud rattle starting noise in the cold from the VTC actuator which my understanding is just a nuisance and not harmful. I believe battery is fairly new.
Any ideas or anyone with a remedy for similar situation? I have an appt with a local independent shop that works on Japanese cars but not for 2 weeks.

from who did it: I loaded it to 275 amps for 15 seconds and it held at 12.5 volts. I loaded it again to about 250 for another 10 seconds or so and it still held above 12. And then it started the car right up.

That's amazing. I've never seen a battery hold at such levels with a current draw of 275 amps. Internal resistance should drop a lot more than that.
