2016 Honda CRV Rear Clunking Noise
Hey Everyone,
I drive a 2016 Honda CRV EXL FWD, the last couple of weeks I've been experiencing a weird clunking noise coming from the rear. At first I thought it was a suspension issue so I took it to a mechanic that I've been going to for years and he said it was possibly my rear struts since one of them was leaking. Fast forward a week the new struts come in and I decided to change them myself. Torqued to spec and all. Test drove and noise is still there. Decided to take it to another mechanic (this time near my house) and see what they thought it was. This time they said it was the rear sway bar bushings. Went ahead and changed them myself. Still the noise is there. Decided to do some research on my own and I read about the sway bar end links. Decided to change those as well. Noise is still there. I brought it back to the same mechanic and left it with him for 2 days. He says there's nothing wrong with my suspension and that the noise is coming from somewhere else. I decided to buy the upper control arms for the rear and I haven't changed them yet since the mechanic said everything was good. Not sure if anyone else has anything to say about this? Im about $1500 down the hole in trying to find the noise. Ready to give up.

Two “mechanics” + you cannot determine where the noise is coming from. So you fire the parts cannon over and over and you are contemplating firing again.
Everything associated with your V rear suspension is accessible for inspection.
My suggestion is: If you are going to fire the cannon again at least get adjustable upper control arms so you can set the camber properly.
You might also want to check your bearings, ball joints, brakes and lugnuts (because “clunking” is vague).
So to the question: How far does that parts cannon shoot?
