The range you tout is a rolling average that is not statistically based. You can pull up history on your infotainment screen and get a better idea of long term economy.

You can also have the computer reset automatically every time you add fuel.

If you do that, the range will reset to program value and your MPG will show 0.0.

Your fuel tank is 14.5 US Gal IIRC. The one and only way to make accurate (semi) computations is to fill the tank, reset a trip meter, drive normally, refill the tank at the same place, then take the miles on the trip meter and divide by the number of gallons it took to refill.

Now you will have your average real mpg. Multiply that by 14.5 and that is you “close enough for government work” range. Then use 13 as your multiplier. That is your useable range with a reserve.

Don’t let the robots distract you.

perhaps I didn’t explain my issue but my fuel range says I only have 28 miles left even though I have a half tank of gas That’s the issue that has never happened before.

Default Ranging

I saw that however your fuel gauge is registering 1/2 tank so the info is there.

It is all about the reset parameters for the computer. There is a section in your “Meter Setup” for manual reset of the timing. Since you did not fill er up ethyl and check the oil, it did not automatically reset.
