2024 Honda CRV gear box recall question
About 3 weeks ago I had the gear box recall on my car serviced. Last week, the cover under my car(not sure what its called, but it protects the undercarriage/engine I guess from road debris, water, mud?) popped off driving home and scared me on the highway. I pop it back in at the front, but it keeps popping off. Would the dealership service had to have accessed the gear box repair from there? I bought this car new last year and its only a year old. Seems strange that would all of a sudden pop off so soon within a year. I haven't hit or run over anything in the roads either to have caused it. Want to know if they would have removed that to do the repair before I call up there to make them fix it without charging me.

By gearbox I’m thinking you mean steering gear recall so yes, the lower engine cover would need to be removed. ‘24 is a gen 6 so not sure which fasteners were used but assuming similar, they are likely the 1/4 turn plastic fasteners which were likely monkey torqued and broken. Soooo, take it back and have them replaced properly like a quality shop would.
