Default 2024 Honda CRV Hybrid question - Sticky Steering

2024 Honda CRV Hybrid question. Close to buying a 2024 CRV Hybrid Touring model. I paused the selections because I have read about the “sticky steering” problem. I understand and need clarification on, is this a possible problem with all trim levels in the 2024 CRV line? I can’t find any information on how widespread the problem is? 2 Percent, 10 Percent or all could have it and just a manner of time before it will show up. Has this turned into a general recall? My concern is I have read several people are starting Lemon Law proceeding to get rid of the car and its taking months for parts and the car is “off the road” until fixed. I’m like others can’t afford to pay $40 K for a car to have it sit for months. What is the risk? Thanks for the help.

The info you want is not available yet. It will be after it's been a problem for long enough and effects enough customers.

I have a 2023 CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring, and I have the issue. It was diagnosed and confirmed by my local Honda Dealer Service in December, 2023 and the necessary replacement part was ordered.

As of this date (30 May, 2024) the part has not arrived, and is not scheduled to arrive until September, 2024 (if then - I'm skeptical).

I have opened a case with Honda Customer Service and I have filed a report with NHTSA - but to no avail.

If you search online, you see there are reports of thousands of such issues with CR-V and other Honda and Acura models.

We are in the same boat as you are. We have been waiting 5 months for a part. It wasn't until we spoke with an attorney they pointed us to the National Center for Dispute Settlement in the Warranty Guide in the car. Go to this website https://www.ncdsusa.org/consumers/au...anty-disputes/ and file a claim and your case will go through arbitration and you can select what you want as your resolution. We are requesting repurchase of the vehicle and reimbursement for months of payments on unusable car, months of insurance, increased gas prices because we are no longer driving a hybrid, and payment for the countless hours we have fought with American Honda and the dealership. The arbitration process has been smooth so far though and I wish we had been told about this months ago because Honda isn't fixing this problem anytime soon.

You were wise to file a claim with NCDS - here's an update since my earlier post:

I also filed a claim with NCDS - I did not ask for repurchase of the vehicle, but instead asked for immediate repair. Guess what - about 1 week after filing the claim, the replacement part magically arrived and was replaced. The problem is resolved.

Without this prodding, Honda would likely have taken months longer until resolution.

Good luck with your claim.
