EV Mode versus Engine in 2023 Hybrid
I have had my 2023 CRV Sport/Hybrid for about a month now. I don't have a heavy foot but it seems like the EV light will go off and the Engine take over a lot more than I expected. What is the experience of others?

Much is dependent upon battery charge, speed and distance when you utilize EV mode. On my 2022 Hybrid, I can easily get from my house to the grocery store which is just over 2 miles away providing I go through the neighborhood and keep my speed under 30 mph while not using the heater/air conditioning. I intentionally turn the heat/AC off so I'm only running on battery for the very short trip and even then the engine will sometimes kick on during the return trip depending upon the charge level of the battery.
The battery in the hybrid is considerably smaller than a Tesla thus we won't ever get the range from the CRV Hybrid battery like you would a Tesla. With that said, I didn't want a Tesla that limited my range but instead a hybrid that helped me save on fuel/emissions when making short trips in town and decent mileage with unlimited range for road trips.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I will just have to get used to it. My other vehicle is a 2017 Civic Hatchback. The 1.5 turbo in it is certainly a lot quieter than the roar your\ get when the 2.0 in the CRV kicks in.
