Default 2025 honda crv hybrid throttle hang?

We bought a 2025 hybrid. We just past 4000miles and noticed on our last trip when I back off the throttle the power % stays at 50 for about 5 sec. Or I will be barely tapping the throttle at 10% but it would indicate 60% power and would hang there. I am getting 18mpg due to that. It only does this over 60mph.
see images notice the power % how high it is and my foot is off the throttle. All the sudden it would start working again. Also i noticed it is better if I drive in B on the shifter

See powerr % when it works normal.

I estimate that your dealer’s service department will tell you that there is nothing wrong with your V.

If you want gas miser fuel economy then you need to select Economy Mode
and maybe slow down from Mach Schnell to maybe the speed limit.

You might also delve into your 800 page owners manual to learn how to operate the regenerative braking, what B mode does and how and why the computer goes in and out of EV mode at highway speeds especially.

Where did you derive your 18mpg figure from?

For comparative purposes, I got 35 mpg avg on a recent mostly highway trip over 2500 miles round trip @ 70 mph in Econ mode with ACC on. Keeping in mind that your V has a high and low OD and mine is a lower power single OD.

we have done the exact same trip 3 time since we have bought the car. the first two trips average 34mpgs, and drive same around 80mph or 85mph . this last trip as seen i cannot get over 29mpg and when climbing hills my mpg would drop to 18mpg due to the power gauge hanging and demanding 100% when im barely stepping on the throttle. i did not think to take picture of that . these are on the way back. When i drop the speed to under 60mph there is no power hangs or demanding 100% . This morning i hooked up my Autel maxi and monitored PIDS for the APP. and, and the Power gauge matches my throttle (APP) input. so if I demand 10% throttle it goes to 10%, but it starts to hang and malfunction over 70mphs or climbing hills . when climbing hills going over Passes, i would be doing 75mph demanding 15% throttle but power gauge would go up to 90% sometimes 100% and my mpg would drop drastically. It never use to do this . Like I said we have done this trip 3 times.

There is no reasonable way to have a discussion regarding economy (mpg) when you drive like you choose to do.

Soooo, with that falling on deaf ears, I return to your “hanging throttle” complaint.

Your “gas pedal” is not connected to your ICE. It simply sends the request for ludicrous speed to the Power Control Module et al. The computer has all the data and processes your input. It then selects how it is going to respond. This includes which wheels are going to receive the energy (don’t know if you have AWD and yes, it does make a difference.)

iMMD is the Honda strong hybrid strategy. Lots of YT videos on that along with some great WeberAuto videos splainin how your e-cvt works.

While you may actually have a real issue, your Autel likely would have alerted you to it and you did not say anything about DTC’s or MIL’s.

Soooo, like everybody else who jumps into a Honda Hybrid, you are on the uphill learning curve.

Happy Motoring

Thanks for all the feedback.
I am driving with traffic. Speed limit in the state we were in is 70 and everyone is doing 80 to 85. So im not driving out of the ordinary. Some states have a speed limit of 90mph as well.
all I'm saying is the last 2 times we did the trip this stuff never happened.
go in your crv hold the APP at 10% and ull see the power gauge matches it. If you hold it 25% the gauge will match it.
this system is new to me. I'm just comparing it to our last 2 trips , and noticed the difference, especially when going uphills through passes.
I'm barely touching the APP and power gauge is spiking to 75 or 90% at times. And it hangs there when I get off the APP.

I cannot do that as my instrument panel is very different and does not have the numbers associated with ICE power. Its simply an arc across the top with regen in green on the left and power in blue on the right.

On the 1.5T’s the power arc is the tach.

Since I always operate in Econ I don’t even hear much of anything from the engine compartment or speakers.

I also do not have a B or Snow mode. Those are gen 6 toys. I do have the regen paddles and I use them to achieve longer EV operation and better fuel economy.

Soooo, what did the dealer say?
