Default 99 CRV Power Steering Leak

I have an AWD 1999 CRV that has recently starting leaking massive amounts of power steering fluid (I filled up the reservoir on a Tuesday and by Thursday it was empty). I do not currently own a set of ramps and thus cannot locate the source of the leak.

I am hoping that I will not need to replace the pump. How can I tell if the pump is still working? I live in an apartment and no longer have all the tools necessary to fix things on my car. How in depth is the maintenance required to change the pump? Likewise how difficult to change the lines?

I am an extremely inexperienced "mechanic" who has only rotated tires, changed oil, and helped changed a CV joint. Is this something I can tackle on my own?

Finally, if I did nothing at all what would be the immediate/long term consequences?

If you don't feel like typing an answer please feel free to call me at 330.472.9925

Thanks,
Mark

You would need full workshop facilities to carry out the repair correctly so I would take to a Honda dealer it might just be a line leak or worst the steering pump or steering rack.
