Default Ac recharge hose doesn't fit on low side port

I've been trying to attach the ac recharge hose on to the low side port and it doesn't fit. Is there another type of fitting I need? The one on my recharge can doesn't have a deep enough female fitting, it can't wrap around the male groove with it's bearings to stay locked on. This is with a 2010 Honda CR-V, I'm using a r134a recharge can and hose with gauge from Walmart.

Some need to be forced on. Push it hard and straight and you may need to pull the lock barrel up at the same time.

I measured the female opening, it's too shallow to accept the male groove. Where the female bottoms out is some serious mm short. Kind of ridiculous to be selling these ac kits if the fitting to fill a Honda can't be found anywhere on the internet.

Not actually seeing what is being done, can not say what is the real issue.
Are you actually on the bigger hose that goes to the compressor?
Those connectors are suppose to be fairly standardized?
Sorry can not help.

The cap should be blue on the low side which is the larger hose/pipe.

Just like you said. I wasn't firmly enough pushing down on it.
