alternator
#2
I replaced the alternator on my nephew's 2007 CRV.
Straight forward. Take off power steering pump reservoir and use bungee cord to hold it out of the way.
Remove reservoir bracket. Then, take the tensioner pulley loose with a 14 mm wrench (extra long for more leverage)
Then, take off belt partially. Loosen all three bolts that hold alternator in place. Then remove bolts.
The first one was easy. The other two were sort of underneath and hidden from view.
Had to do that by feel. Once alternator was loose. Try every which way to get it out.
Finally managed to get it out and the new one in place. Bolt in the easy one first and use it to help line up the other two holes
That was all done by feel. Then, searched the internet on how the belt goes back on.
Needed help for one person to hold back the tensioner and the other to wrap the belt on right.
Of course, it took me way too long to do all this.
And, your vehicle might be different???? Good luck.
