First long trip, 7 month recap
The CRV is now 7 months old and we just got back from a Savannah - Daytona Beach getaway.
Had 2,130 miles at the start of the trip, 3,130 at the end.
General nits: the steering wheel doesn't extend far enough towards me and I don't understand why Honda did not put outside rear view mirror memory or rear window express in the Touring model. I'd rather have a regular automatic then a CVT - but its really my wife's daily and she doesn't mind it. Otherwise the car is great.
We based ourselves in Daytona Beach but went down to Kennedy Space Center and up to St Augustine as well. Last day was at Daytona Int'l Speedway.
Lots to do around this area of FL.
I was curious about gas mileage. We had managed 27.7 in the first 2,130 miles but did not have any long freeway sections in that.
So 27.7 is our normal average.
On the trip we had it in "eco" mode and tire psi was on spec. Upon delivery I replaced the OEM tires with better rated tires.
On a freeway only segment from DB back to Savannah consisting of just I95 we managed 31.4 for 225 miles at an average speed around 78mph.
I drove 150 of these miles with cruise control; Wife drove the last segment without cruise - she doesn't like cc.
I detailed the car back to clean and shiny yesterday. Glad the front end is covered with Expel ppf.
Its a keeper
