Default Has anyone installed a remote started themselves?

hello
I bought a Crime Stopper Security Plus SP 400 remote car starter for my wife's 2010 CRv a year ago, we thought we'd have our mechanic install it, but unfortunately he took one look and said he doesn't install those.

It's sat a round a long time and I'm either going to sell it on ebay or unwrap it and give it a try myself.
Has anyone on here installed a remote started in their CRV?
What is the level of difficulty?
Thanks

You need a pro to install it. It will cost $$$. So ask why you want a remote starter. I have one that came with my Viper alarm. Mine's just a novelty and has no useful purpose in a warm climate. In a cold climate, it will warm the engine, so when you do get to you car 10 minutes later, the heater will blow hot air. It doesn't turn on the heater or AC, at least not on my installation.
