Default intermittent wiper relay location

Hi

I have a trusty old 2002 CR-V that recently started giving me trouble with the windshield wipers.
they won't park themselves and on the INT setting they just stop in the middle of the windshield.
the continuous modes work fine though.

this sounds like a textbook intermittent relay failure and I have been trying to locate the damn thing, both by going through the manual and googling to see if any thread or website could point in the right direction.

all i do know is that this is vaguely referred to in the manual as a control module but the location isn't revealed anywhere.
the relay and fuse box under the bonnet seems to not have it either.

would any of you have an idea where this thing could be hiding?

Default If you don't find it there...

Some cars have the entire wiper relay/control module built right into the combination switch on the steering column. If you don't find it in the foot area, check there.
