Hi all,

we recently went on a trip an while taking off my rings (shouldn’t do this!), I lost one under the seat. We checked all around the car when we stopped and inside as well. The only place we can’t get to is an opening where the seat is bolted on. I can reach in partway but can tell it goes down further on the sides and my finger can’t reach it. Would a magnet work on a gold alloy? Anyone know what it looks like in there? Someone with a manual perhaps?

While I can’t really imagine how the ring might have gotten in there, it isn’t anywhere else…

the vehicle is a 2016 crv. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Could you use wire with a crook in the end of it? Take a section of coat hanger, bend the end and root around with that?

Thank you for your response. We did find the ring. It was next to the back outside bolt of the seat. My hubby had proceeded as if to removed the seat, taken off the front bolts and loosened the back. He tipped the seat back a little and there it was. We did try the hanger, it was awkward and unsuccessful. Even we’re going to try the hanger with “blu tack”. But as it turns out we were not searching the right spot! Lesson learned: never take rings off in the car!

 

Believe the lesson is to not let go of the items you want to keep handy.
Or put them in a safe place.

Better lost in the vehicle than outside of the vehicle
Cause you can always search for it later
