Default need some CRV advice

Hello i currently own a 03 CRV EX and it has been a wonderful vehicle. I was recently rear ended and my beloved car is totaled
I am looking to replace it and several people have warned me against getting a newer CRV and that the newer they get the more issues there are.
Can you let me know what to watch out for and if there are certain years that are more/less problematic. Thanks so much, Craig

I recently bought 2007 CRV. Found out that the engine design puts the AC compressor in a heat soak which causes the compressor to fail
Other than that, I haven't had too much problems.

I would generally avoid one with more electronics than your old one. I would particularly avoid touch screen anything. Most of the problems the newer CR-Vs have (that I've seen on the forum anyway) are computer-related, and if you aren't already addicted to everything in the car being on a touchscreen, it's best just to avoid the headache.

Also, I don't know how important it is to you, but the 07+ CR-Vs carry compact spare tires, and the rear door window doesn't open because 3rd gen and after are all hatchbacks.

I can personally recommend the 98 CR-V EX as an excellent vehicle though.

:-D

Watch out for people warning you against getting a newer CRV.

Not very specific on what you are looking at.
With all the computers now, It is a wise idea to get a Honda warranty extension on used CRV, if you are worried. Pricey, but covers more electronics than aftermarket warranty.

No experience with CRV here but make sure you get a carfax on the one you choose.
