Starter testing thru relay?
I have a 2008 Honda Civic that isn’t starting and the battery is fine. I have seen some videos where you can test the starter by finding the starter relay and touching 2 of the connections with a wire and see if the starter begins to crank. Is this possible on the civic if so where is the relay and which terminals do you touch?

Take a look at the relay
Should be in engine bay fuse box
Terminals 87 and 30 are load side
Terminals 85 and 86 go to the control side
NOTE: Do not mess with the control side. It can damage ECM.
ECM is very expensive to replace.
Check for power at terminals 87 and 30
(some vehicles require the key to be in "ON" position)
Wire from 87 to 30 will put power to load (starter)
As soon as starter cranks, remove wire
I starter doesn't crank then possible starter issue
Shorting the solenoid terminal to the battery cable terminal on starter will also crank starter (if starter is working)
Note: You can look up relays on internet
Or check the youtube for more videos on how to do the starter relay by-pass test
