I'm wanting to get some extra fluid for my rear diff (and maybe to change it later). My manual says to use CVT fluid, but Honda makes, like, four CVT fluids. I tried asking at a dealer, but their fluid charts only go back to 2002, and my CR-V is a 98.

Can anyone tell me which CVT fluid I need to use in my rear diff?

 

1998 appears to use dual pump fluid II

 

That's what I thought, but I wanted some confirmation. 98 is definitely a dual pump system then?

 

when you go pick the fluid up at Honda, you can also verify the fluid to use on your 98 cr-v then you'll be triple sure.

 

To Honda people cannot verify it since their fluid charts only go back to 2002, hence my question. Thanks for the help tho.
