Default 2 issues: shimmy and fuel leak

Hi everyone,

Disclaimer: I'm a new rider, this is my first bike. I've been riding for just over a year.
I'm not super familiar with the mechanics related to motorcycles but I'm learning as I go, since I don't have the mx manual atm.

I was gifted a 1985 rebel 250 last year and up until recently, it's been a wonderful bike.
The mileage was really low (like next to nothing) and my dad fixed up what was wrong with it before he gave it to me, but now I'm having two issues with it.

First is the shimmy, it happens at slow speed whenever I'm turning right, and when I'm actively slowing down below 20mph, I've seen quite a few posts about shimmies at higher speeds but mine is slower, and mostly just when I'm turning right, so I'm not sure. I also thought I heard a rubbing sound/felt friction when riding to the right side the other day, but it seems to be intermittent because I don't hear it that often, and I couldn't find any worn spots anywhere on the right side so I'm not sure where that was from, but I'm thinking maybe those two symptoms are related.

Second problem is a fuel leak. I've been looking around trying to find a similar issue but I'm finding overflow from the carburetor being the primary issue, but I'm not seeing that kind of leak (from the lines) I'm seeing a leak on the components underneath the gas tank. I felt/looked around and it doesn't seem to be a tank issue, though, and like I said I'm not super familiar with the components/mechanics of the bike so I'm not sure exactly what everything does down there/where to troubleshoot.

Thanks for any help.
