Default 2003 honda element

Hi guys I hope some one can help answer this question for me. I bought a 2003 honda element and the alternator went out. My husband has been trying to change the alternator but there is a problem. The bottom bolt under the alternator is rounded off. And as you know there is not much room to work down there. Any suggestions guys. Please help me.

welcome to the forum. vise grip, see if they make a tool like a chain strap used to remove stuck oil/fuel filters, grind/saw the head off to slide the alternator off. plumbers wrench with jaws to grip smooth head to wrench off.

They do have those sockets that are spiral cut to take off rounded nuts and bolts.
search google "easy out sockets". I have the Irwin set. Used a few times, does what it says.
