2009 Honda Accord Ex-L Coupe vs 2014 Honda Civic Lx Coupe
In the market for a used car, and I am choosing between the above-mentioned vehicles
The details are as follows:
2009 Honda Accord Ex-L coupe
-71,000 miles
- $10,000 (after dealer fees, etc)
- Automatic transmission
The 2014 Honda Civic LX coupe
-87,000 miles
- $11,500 (after dealer fees, etc)
- CVT Transmission.
Obviously, the 2014 is newer, but also has more miles, and also has a CVT transmission; and the Accord has the inverse, fewer miles, is older, and has the automatic transmission.
Which one is the better bet, and why?

welcome to the forum. Both are good buys, just depends on what you are looking for in a vehicle. If both cars are from a Honda Dealership, this usually means the dealership took good care of the cars or it has passed their heavy checks. if you are looking for good milage and not a lot of comfort, civic is good. if you're looking for more a family car and not worried about gas prices, the accord is good. both vehicles regardless of milage will take you into the 300k + miles and last a long time. maintenance costs are not to far apart, insurance on an older car is usually lower. what will you be happy with that you're paying for will not bother your pocket book.
