Default FOB opens windows 2018 CRV

Holding the unlock button on the FOB will result in the windows opening. This is claimed to be a feature. However, I inadvertently discovered that my locked Honda 2018 CRV had the windows open.

This feature can cause the window to roll down inadvertently such as if some object presses against the unlock button. I called Honda to inquire if they could disable this feature. They cannot. Honda stated this is a feature, I think it is a poor feature and in the category of a defective design.

So be aware of this feature to avoid thinking that your car is safely locked. Also the sunroof also opens along with the windows. So do not do this if there is rain.

welcome to the forum. would there be any type of protective case that would prevent the opening of the windows uncommanded. my friend has a casing around his fob to prevent the starting or opening of his car.

Welcome in, I agree ,I have heard of this before and either a pocket dedicated to the fob, remove the fob or a protective case is the only way I see.
