Hi. My name is ''G'' and we have a 2012 Honda CR-V. It has been a very good car since weīve owned it. However, sometimes now I will turn it off and it will not start up again without a boost from our portable-starter. I have load-tested the battery and tested the volts when running and all test good. And when testing I can start up 2-3 times and no problem. Now Iīm thinking there may be some kind of charge control that is broken or not working all the time. Any ideas of what may be wrong? Thanks.

 

Update, we took the Honda to Honda dealer this morning and they tested the charging and battery and all was good and they did not know why this happens

Sounds like some kind of relay problem.

 

welcome to the forum when you go to the dealer next time, ask them if they did an "up date PGM-FI software" incl battery and HDS check. ser. bul 12-041. if this is not it, possible ignition switch contacts dirty.

 

Hey, a buddy of mine from DSRLeasing had a very similar problem - it is most likely software in your case as well.

 

I got a small solar panel and have it in the dash, but it is not recommended to have it connected while running so I put a relay there shuts of when motor is running and we donīt have any problem so far

Hi it happent again yesterday, and we took it to Honda dealer this morning and they tested the charging, battery and the starter and all was good and they did not know why this happens
