RPM's are jumping around!!!!!?

when i start my car and give it some gas the rph's jump around really bad and after the car is heated up its not as bad but still jumping???

welcome to the fourm mclebed: enjoy your stay. If only the rpm guage is jumping, the power comes from the ignitor in the distributor. also check for possible loose wires.

yea i had the same porblem as u everytime i start my car the RPM jumps around what i did to fix it i checked the ignitor in the distributor cap and it was good but also checked the throter body and that was the porblem and i asldo had to change the gauge give it shot n if it dont work take it to a auto shop
