Default Walker 82596

Anyone use this cat for their civic ex 97?? I live in cali and my cat went bad due to head gaskets (which been fixed of course) just feel like that what finished my cat off i have no codes or anything but it wont pass smog due to high HC, smog is due. Don't know if i should take the hit and buy a magnaflow carb, i seen this cat for a good price though. The cat is also 17inch. when oem states 16.50. Trying to see if anyone else encountered this dilemma.

welcome to the forum: i have not tried a walker cat on my honda, only one from the muffler shop unknown brand. s the price looks good, but the fit of 1/2 in longer may create a problem unless you are changing out the muffler system. i did this on my 90 accord and had the muffler shop do a new cat back exhaust pipe with a 2in pipe and thrush muffler. good tone, pass smog 2 tiimes. and sold the car.
