I have a 2013 Honda Accord with 13,700 miles. The other day my water pump seized causing the belt to break. Aside from the aggravation of getting it towed to local Honda. I did get it fixed at no charge because of new car warranty.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue with this car

Nope pretty rare.

 

Its not a very high compression engine, so that's working in your favor. However, it IS an interference engine just like all civic engines, so there is always that chance. It really depends on the RPMs at the time of the break, and how much the Car Gods like you.
