have you checked your idle cut off and throttle position sensor.

it could be a bad ignition coil also, when they start to go the car will tend to every once in awhile not want to idle. You could also be getting water in your gas (condensation) causing a rough idle and starving the engine for fuel. Check your injectors they could be dirty. Check the fuel lines and fuel filters they could have dirt in them. Also check your idle position sensor inside your throttle body it could have dirt on it causing unsmooth idle and possibly preventing the engine to stay at constant idle.

best way to fix some of those problems above is to get one of the following:
-Fuel injector cleaner
-Sea Foam (I recommended it for gas, oil, and also inside throttle body)
-Fuel Stabil
-104 Octane boost(I Recommend Lucas additive products containing STP)
-Marvel Mystery oil
-sensor cleaner (not available everywhere)
