1991 CRX won't start when it rains?
I have a 1991 CRX, and for some reason it won't start when it rains, and possibly due to drop in temperature. It doesn't sound like anything is wrong when I attempt to start, it just doesn't turn over. Sometimes, if I catch it before it has rained too much, it will start after several long attempts and with the gas pedal slammed. It kicks and spurts a few seconds, but then runs fine. I verified there is spark, but I'm not really sure where to go from there. I've even attempted starting spray to no avail. If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Aloha crelliot: welcome to the forum...Check to see that your distributor is dry, make sure your spark plug wires are not too old and jumping to ground, ( will see a fine white/gray powder between the lines or spark jump at night ) Also a cracked distributor cap my cause hard start when raining or damp days

I've had issues with the main relay on my '92 Accord. It would start when the outside temperature was high or very humid. When I replaced the main relay an the problem went away. I would also look at plug, wires, cap and rotor (shotgun approach). We replaced the main relay in my son's '93 Acura Legend and his starting problems went away too.
