Default 2001 honda accord transmission rebuild

Hey guys.

First time post.

My car just hit the 130k miles mark. I have had an issue with the transmission for awhile now. 2 years. The problem was caused by me some how some way throwing the car into park at 80 miles an hour......

At any rate, I have not had reverse for 2 years. The drive is finally starting to slip. I have to fix this soon before I do not have a car that I can drive anymore. I found a transmission shop that will rebuild it for $1200.

I have been looking around online and I have seen all these issues with the transmission with my car.

My concern is, if I spend the $1200 to rebuild it, do you think I will have another issue with the transmission in the next couple years?

I only need the car to last another 3 - 4 when Ill finally be settled enough to be able to get a new car.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to cars. So any information will be a great help.

Thanks in advanced!

cars have a safety feature if you accidentally shift to park while driving it won't do anything. the problem is its a honda made automatic transmission and all honda auto trans suck ***. you could try to find a racing overhaul kit for the rebuild like TCI that would make the trans bullet proof.

You might try finding a cheap used trans in a salvage yard, that should give you a few extra miles.
