Default 2002 Civic

I am trying to help out a lady in our church make her daughter's car reliable. Primarily, the car is overheating, and she has replaced the thermostat and housing but may have done "something wrong". I am going to pressure test the coolant system and see if I can identify a leak or other issue. The other concern is an oil leak. I am attaching a picture of where oil is leaking but I need some advice as to how to remedy it. I first thought, before I saw the engine in person, it probably is the valve/cam cover gasket, but it looks good. Maybe the timing cover? It is the area behind the thermostat housing. Head gasket? Not sure. Anyway, if any of you out there can advise me after taking a look at the pic, I would greatly appreciate it.

It sounds like you’re taking on a worthwhile project to help out. For the overheating issue, pressure testing the coolant system is a great first step; it can reveal leaks or other problems like a faulty water pump or radiator. Since she replaced the thermostat and housing, ensure they were installed correctly and that there’s no air https://tropical-casino.com/ trapped in the system.
