2007 C-RV A/C Quit....Recharge ?
Yesterday, in interstate traffic, my 2007 C-RV A/C started blowing warm air. Turned it off, and checked it later at home to find compressor clutch not activating. Checked F20 7.5A fuse OK. I suspect low refrigerant.
Question: Can refrigerant be recharged when compressor is not kicking in ? Will refrigerant flow into system when compressor not running ? Could attempting to recharge under this condition cause damage ?

you can charge system to get some freon in due to need pressure switch to turn compressor on. , charge system and then run eng, if pressure does not engage compressor you may have another problem. be sure to add lubricant or your compressor will lock up.

When I recently bought my 2007 CR-V, the AC didn't work.
After research, have heard there is a design flaw which causes the compressor to fail at around 80k miles
Supposedly Honda knows about this and did a warranty extension. But, that does help second owners.
And most people are just out of luck.
Stuck a recharge can of refrigerant with a gauge. It read that it had enough pressure.
So, it wasn't leaking. Looked at clutch. It wasn't engaging. Tried pressing on it to engage.
Wouldn't engage. Bought new compressor and had it changed and recharged.
Works great now. Also weather just turned to being cooler.
