Sorry been awhile a lot of doctors appointments. So i got the middle section unbolted so now i need to take the drive line off at the rear. A 10 mm socket fits on it but when i turn the wrench the socket slips and the drive line also turns. So what size would those bolts be that hold the drive line on the rear? Also because it is already broken from the front how do i keep the driveline from turning so i can loosen the 4 bolts?

So if you got the middle section unbolted, and the rear part of the driveline is still bolted in, (so that it won't fall) you're finished in terms of making the car FWD. There would be no reason to remove it unless you're replacing the entire driveline, but from what I hear, all you need is a U joint. So, with this in mind I'd say, just leave it as is. It will just save you more time and effort when you go to reinstall the middle section of the drive shaft back in the car.

I guess my question should be: does the drive shaft separate into 2 parts or is it just 1 piece??? If it's 1 piece then you'll have to remove it.
