Default Cam scarring & damage but runs perfect

Hey guys, recently bought a 2003 CRV with the 2.4.... bought at auction pretty cheap. I could tell the previous owner didn't care for it much but I knew I would. Installed new starter, ball joints, rear end mount and bushings and the vtec solenoid (gasket was leaking). Did a complete BG product over haul on it and tune up.. runs great and then I noticed an oil leak on the rear of the engine. I thought I had fixed it with the vtc solenoid replacement but it turned out to be the valve cover gasket. Replaced the gasket today and noticed some scarring and pitting on the cam shaft lobes.. I have put over 5k miles on it and it runs great, no noises or smoking.. im
surprised it runs this good with this damage. Any thoughts?

no thoughts, but welcome to the forum. You did a good job taking care of a neglected cr-v. hope it runs good for a long time.
