check engine type

Exclamation check engine type

Ive bought a 90 Integra. I was told that the engine had been changed but the previous owner did know who which kind. How can i check it?

get the engine nbr off the block, and look into wikipedia.org, it will give you what year and types of cars used that engine. Hope you have the same stock type engine. Make sure there is some type of info that the engine has been changed. Important in the state of Ca. If you mod your car and get stopped, the eng type and s/n will be checked.

where on the block will i be able to find it? around the trans and motor come together right?

correct. On the front where the bell housing and block meet. Right above the clutch slave cylinder.
