Default Confused

I own a 03 honda civic it has the 1.7 it started running hot and loosing power so i shut it off let it cool then it runs fine takes a while to get hot i live aprox 12 miles from town so it gets hot after about 15 to 20 min. So it has 171000 miles on it ive just changed the timing belt and water pump so while its down i changed the thermostat and checked the radiator and hoses. I see no water leaks or water in my oil ..i pressure tested each cylinder to see if i got bubbles in the radiator so i assume my head gasket is good.. i think ive covered everything.. im going crazy i love the car but im about ready to change the engine and radiator.. any help will be appreciated.

welcome to the forum did you check to see if the fan motor is working, when it gets to a certain temp about 180 the fan is suppose to go on, if not the sensor or fan motor is out. ( my accord did the same as your civic ) put 12 volts to the terminal and see if the fan turns if it does, its the sending unit. if you have never changed the anti freeze for most of those miles, the rad top end could be plugged up a little, you can back flush the rad. my 02 civic got 320k+ miles and still running.
