Electrical System Failure?

Electrical System Failure?
Alright, I have a question that may be very simple.
I am getting power supply, but I can not start the car. When I do turn the key all my electrical units start clicking (door locks, gauges, and whatever else). I am thinking this is due to a bad alternator, but something seems worse than just a faulty alternator. Anyone have any ideas on what this can be?

Where are you checking for this , at the battery ??
Just because there may be 12 volts there may not be enough cranking amps to start the car.

Since you say the car won't start the alternater really doesn't come into play. Until the car is running everything is powered by the battery only.
Have your battery checked ( load tested ) and if it's bad replace it. If the battery is not being charged while running , then you can say you have a bad alternater.
