Default fwd to rwd...custom project

I am in the planning stage of building a car/buggy. basically its going to be an over-sized road-legal go-kart.Right now I am thinking a civic motor, with transmission and drive shaft, due to weight, and compactness. i dont know much about honda motors, but from my honda friends tell me they are easy to work on.

Also it will be mounted either mid engine or rear engine

Basically which motor would be the best?
hp>100
easily modded for high hp

Thanks in advance

welcome to the forum. You might look into the s-2000 235hp eng with a drive shaft.

if i were to build an off road buggy i would want something with lots of torque i would use the V6 engine from the honda CR-V or the element.if i wanted a street legal go kart i would buy one of these
