Default Hesitation issue when cold please help!!

Hey guys I just picked up a 99 civic lx 5spd. Car is all stock with 193k. When it's cold and I take off it jerks and misses like it's running out of gas. The car starts up and idles just fine and runs just fine once it's warmed up. Any ideas what this might be so i'm not chasing my tail. Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to the forum,Like almost every other fuel-injected car on the planet, Honda's engines use an electronically-controlled idle air control (IAC) valve. The IAC takes the place of the choke plates used on older carbureted engines and those used on some Honda fuel-injected units. If the IAC malfunctions, it will either choke the engine or permit too much airflow, either of which will cause the car to stall.Other than this the Throttle body can accumulate Carbon and Varnish, clean with throttle body spray and this should help.

ya i agree! the engine needs to be cleaned up. I thinkg switching to synthetic motor oil also could help if it gets really cold near where you live cuz the oil stays liquid...normal motor oil becomes really thick if it becomes cold. you could also check the battery cuz its tougher to get them started in winter. use block heaters for that!
