Default Maintenance Required light

My Accord just rolled over 50,000 miles and i believe b/c of this the 'Maint Reqd' light popped on. My car is currently running great, just had some regular maint. done (oil change, tire rotation, etc.) and i'm certain that no maintenance is needed. Is there a way to get this light to go off w/o taking it in for service? Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks for any help received.

If you refer to your owner manual, there are instructions to turn it off. I was told this
turn the key to the II position, turn the key off position, push and hold the odometer reset button, turn the key back to the II position, while still holding the odometer button, wait 10-15 seconds, the light should go off.

Thanks so much acmech52, your advice worked-the light went off. BTW i did consult my owners manual before asking on here but i could not find anything other than where they said to take the car in for service, nothing about how to just make the light go out. Thanks again.

Thank you for your reply, now I know that owners manual don't have all the info for owners to save money on their car. Good info to know.

don't turn the reset switch, turn the ignition key but hold the reset button in, try the above instructions again.

You were correct. I held the switch in for about 15-20 seconds, and the light went out. Thank you very much. The Honda forum is worth its weight in gold. God bless.
