Hello all,
I bought an race car for the Enduro racing at my local track. 1999 Acura CL It has a F23A engine. This is a very stock division. The car will not run over 3,500 rpm. I have tried the following. Changed distributor new complete rotor cap wires and plugs. Change the vtec solenoid complete with oil presure switch. Changed fuel filter checked for fuel pressure 42 psi. Changed the MAP sensor. I cannot figure this out. Looking for anyone with experience with this engine

welcome to the forum without knowing what happened to the car before you worked on it, I just have a few items you can check to see if they check out to be good. if there is a throttle body controller fuse, the relay, knock sensor, and the crankshaft positon sensor, and the pigtail that connects to the cps. these are just some common items that fail to cause the rpm to stop at 3500.
