Need advice - Stripped manifold/sensor threads
Good morning,
I am new to the forum and have a specific problem that I need some advice to fix:
2001 Honda Accord EX 4cyl Engine code F23A1
Recently started getting Check Engine Light - error code was PO135 - determined need of O2 sensor replacement.
Had the hardest time removing old O2 sensor (one located on exhaust manifold) - I started the car a couple of minutes prior to removal to allow for expansion, etc. as recommended. I had to fight it the entire way off, only to realize when removed that it had apparently been stripped when installed?!? I am the original owner and know that there should have been no reason for removal in the past.
Now to the problem at hand: I now have stripped threads on the exhaust manifold. I suspect that I am getting beyond my capabilities. Is there a way to properly repair this without removal of the manifold? Not trying to be lazy, just don't want to make more work than necessary.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
