Default New Honda Driver - 1996 Honda Civic LX

Hello guys,

I just purchased a '96 Civic LX Sedan with the automatic transmission. It has 128,000 miles. Everything seems to be working fine. Any heads up on what else to look for? Only thing I noticed is when I shift from P to R especially D on a cold start up I feel and hear a Thump but it seems to lessen as the engine warms up. Seems to accelerate without a problem while driving it.

I will be using this vehicle as a daily driver. I currently own a '13 Nissan Z so this will be driven instead of the Z during the Winter.

Thanks.

welcome to the forum. enjoy your new ride. Was advised by a transmission shop owner that if all drivers changed their trans fluid once a year, he would be out of business overhauling the transmissions.
