Default Please help

I have an 88 honda accord that's been through alot. It has had a small oil leak for a short time and just the other day it started burning oil like you would not believe, the inside of the car started filling up as well!!!! When it started i could feel the car kinda loose its oomph.I would rather try and fix it then buya new car.A couple guys from work suggested thatI may need to replace the head gasket... any suggestions?
