Exclamation Replacing all gaskets in botched mini me swap y7 w/ y8 head

So I bought this little '91 civic ex mated to a d16y7 with a y8 head. They DESTROYED the swap. From crushing the valve cover o rings on the spark plug wells to DIY gasket in a tube on the intake and mani to un adjusted lash tolerances to an unknown knock to CLOUDS of burning oil at 2.5 RPM to no speedo or temp gauge to no o ring on the oil cap to devouring coolant.

It looks like they watched a tutorial on baking a cake and used the instructions to do the engine swap.

Well, after the oil spray killed the alternator and damaged a few other parts, it's finally at a point, 500 miles in to owning it, that I am tearing the entire engine down after noticing the tops of pistons are caked (the one they thought they were baking) in carbon. They made carbon cakes. They did one thing right.

I'm going to clean everything while doing the entire gasket set, but I know these old engines can sometimes rely on the carbon to keep compression and what not.

So, I got to thinking.. I hate engine restore miracle fluids for obvious reasons.. but on a shiny clean engine.. could this miracle goo actually be worth a shot at maintaining compression?

Just trying to get some ideas here on how to maintain the compression if there is a loss without tearing into the motor again.

Thanks in advance guys!
