Should I patch my windshield or replace it in my case?
I’ve seen a lot of videos where people repair different kinds of "spider" cracks in windshields. Would you consider my crack (in the middle of windshield) to be a large one that really requires a full windshield replacement, or is it reasonable to try a DIY repair kit first? My thought is to use a kit initially, and only replace the windshield if the repair doesn’t hold or if the crack grows over time. Does that make sense in my case?

If you can get a vacuum on it (may cause it to grow a little) and suck in super glue from the other side. If it sucks it in it'll keep it from growing when done.

Yes, it makes sense to try a DIY repair kit first, as long as the crack is not too large and you monitor it closely. If it spreads or affects visibility, you’ll need a full windshield replacement.
